DSU WOMEN?S SOCCER FALLS TO CANISIUS, 3-0

DOVER (September 11, 2009) - The Delaware State Women's Soccer Team (0-4-0) fell to the Canisius Griffs (4-0-1), 3-0, during the team's home opener of the 2009 season on Friday, September 11 at Alumni Stadium.

The Griffs out-shot the Hornets 25-5 on the night, forcing DSU goalkeeper Brittany Curtis to make a career-high 11 saves. Canisius got three goals from three different players to hand the Hornets their fourth loss of the season. Sylvia Kowalski, Jenny Griifin and Kasey Makowski each netted goals for the Griffs.

Kelsey Gibson led all Hornets with four shots in the contest.

The Hornets host VMI on Monday, September 14. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
