BISON STAMPEDE HORNETS

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Oct 11th) - A season high two goals were enough as the Howard Bison (2-7-2 2-0-1Great West) defeated the DSU Hornets 5-2 on Sunday afternoon.

Howard outshot the Hornets 27 to 9, and put nine shots on frame to just five for the red and blue.  DSU was able to get a pair of tallies via a Chelsea Brown penalty kick in the 32nd minute, and Michelle Giorgilli came off the bench to tally a winner, with Candace Wyre turning provider in the 81st minute.

"We lacked discipline when it mattered the most, and we were unable to recover," said head coach Nitan Soni, whose team was able to score two goals for the first time this season.  "We showed some progress moving forward, and we will need to carry that momentum into the next match."

DSU (1-11, 0-3 Great West) will look to end their seven match losing streak against St. Peters on Thursday in Jersey City, N.J. at 3 p.m.  They'll get back to Great West play on Sunday in Newark, N.J. against the NJIT Highlanders at 2 p.m.
