VMI SNAPS UNBEATEN STREAK FOR DSU SOCCER TEAM WITH 5-0 WIN

Lexington, Va. (September 28, 2008) ? After stringing together three games in which the DSU soccer team went 2-0-1, VMI snapped the Hornets' unbeaten streak with a 5-0 win.  With the loss, the Hornets fall to 2-6-1 on the season.

VMI's Olivia Moore tallied a hat trick and six shots on goal to lead the way for the Keydets, while Megan Strand and Chrissy Beach each added a goal to help the winning effort.  VMI out shot the Hornets 34-8 on the day. 

DSU GK Courtney Haas registered 12 saves on the day, but would allow four goals in the first half.

Five different players tallied shots on goal for the Hornets, but none would find the net as Keydet GK Angela Redmond racked up five saves and the shutout. 

DSU will return home to start conference play as they take on Howard on October 1.  Game time is set for 5 p.m.
