DSU VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO RIVAL DELAWARE IN STRAIGHT SETS

DOVER, Del. (September 23, 2008) ? Delaware's Stephanie Barry, who leads the team and ranks ninth in the nation in digs/game, registered 25 digs to help the Bluehens defeat Delaware State 3-0. (25-12, 25-11, 25-12)

Delaware controlled the tempo of the match as they registered 42 kills to DSU's 21.  Leading the way for the Bluehens was Kim Stewart. (12)  For the Hornets, Cassandra Joyner and Elisa Hermann each registered six kills. 

DU's Jess Chason led the team with 30 assists in the effort. 

The Hornets have now lost three matches in a row and will look to rebound as they play at home for the first time in 2008.  The Delaware State Tournament will take place September 26-27.  The Hornets will take on Farleigh Dickinson and Norfolk State on Friday (1 p.m. and 7 p.m.) and Wagner on Saturday. (12 p.m.)
