Dover, DE --- Katreem Palmer led four players in double figures with 17 points in Delaware State's 72-63 win over Howard in Memorial Hall Monday evening. The Lady Hornets won their second straight to improve to 12-12 overall and 7-3 in the MEAC. Howard lost its eighth in a row to fall to 2-20 and 2-8. Raquel Collier added 16 points for the Lady Hornets, while Selena Galloway had 14 and Keyhana Wakefield 10. Wakefield also contributed five assists, three blocks and two steals to the win. Delaware State's Thea Littlepage led all players with 11 rebounds. DSU held a 48-29 rebound advantage. Howard's Tamaya Daniels came off the bench to lead all players with 18 points. She was eight-of-11 from the field. Asha Santee added 13 for the Lady Bison. The score was 49-49 when Delaware State went on a 12-2 run to take control for good. Galloway capped off the rally with a lay up to give the Lady Hornets a 61-51 lead with 6:29 left to play. Delaware State held its biggest lead, 68-57, after a three-point play by Palmer with 2:28 remaining. Howard could get no closer than six the rest of the way. Delaware State led by as many as seven in the first half, and was ahead 38-33 at the break. Howard fought back, and took its first lead of the game, 45-44, on a jumper by Santee with 13:30 left in the second half.
