DOVER (October 1, 2008) ? Howard's Rachael Lee and Natalie Willington combined for 3 goals and two assists to help the Bison shut out the Hornets 5-0, in the first United Soccer Conference game for the Hornets this season.With the loss, DSU falls to 2-7-1, 0-1 on the season.
Howard would score two times in the first half. Aliyah Glenn started the scoring for the Bison just 3 minutes into the game. Lee added the second goal at 6:45 on a center from Glenn.
Play would get physical in the second half, but it didn't turn into anything positive for DSU as they scrambled to find their offense. Both teams would combine for 31 fouls in the contest.
Willington would score both of her goals in the second half. She carried her second goal half the field in order to put it past DSU GK Courtney Haas. Haas finished with two saves.
The Hornets will travel to Annapolis, Maryland to face Navy on October 6. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
