The Lady Hornets soccer team battled to a scoreless tie with VMI in a double overtime contest at Alumni Stadium Wednesday evening. It marks the first scoreless tie in the six year history of the DSU soccer program. This brings the Hornets record on the season to 2-4-1 while VMI is now 3-3-1.
Hornet goalie Courtney Haas recorded six saves to earn his first career shutout, while VMI goal keeper Angela Redmond turned away three Delaware State shots.
The Hornets Danielle Miller attempted five shots, while Cali Jackson and Brittanee Gourdine had two each. Megan Strand had five shots for VMI, including four on goal.
The Hornets return to play Sunday at Albany, New York
