LADY HORNETS TO TAKE ON ARMY IN MEMORIAL HALL

Dover, DE --- The Delaware State women's basketball team welcomes Patriot League power Army to Memorial Hall Saturday in the Lady Hornets' final home game of the 2007 calendar year. Game time is 3:00 p.m. DSU is 2-3 on the season. The Lady Hornets are coming off a 65-62 loss to nationally-ranked Michigan State on Monday. The outcome wasn't decided until Delaware State's Ashlee Burbage missed the potential game-tying three-point shot at the final buzzer. The Lady Hornets led 47-40 midway through the second half before the Spartans fought back. Army brings a two-game win streak into Saturday's contest. The Black Knights improved to 4-2 on the season after a 63-50 win over Brown on Wednesday. Army was 24-6 last season. This will be the first meeting between the teams. It's also Delaware State's first game against a service academy since a 53-45 win over Navy in 2005. Senior Raquel Collier leads Delaware State in scoring with a 15.3 point-per-game average. Senior Cara Enright tops the Black Knights in scoring at 16.3 ppg. After Saturday's contest, the Lady Hornets will be on the road for six games before returning home Jan. 5, 2008 to face St. Augustine's.
