HORNETS FALL SHORT AT MORGAN STATE

Dover, DE --- The Delaware State volleyball team came up short in its bid for a third straight win, dropping a 3-1 decision at Morgan State Monday evening. Morgan State won the first two games 30-26 and 30-27. The Hornets staved off defeat with a 30-24 victory in game three, but the Bears closed out the match with a 30-18 win in game four. Ester Johnson and Jeniqua Moran had 19 kills each to lead Morgan State, which won its fifth straight match to improve to 8-14 overall and 6-2 in the MEAC. The Hornets are now 6-18 overall and 3-3 in league play. Cassandra Joyner (so. Claymont, DE) continued her strong play of late, leading the Hornets with 15 kills. She also tallied 16 digs. Erica Tajchman (fr. Omaha, NE) also recorded a double-double, collecting 13 kills and 11 digs. Kinga Muszynski (sr, Waterdown, Ontario) tied for the match high with 21 digs. Delaware State returns to action this Saturday (Oct. 27) at Hampton.
