DSU VOLLEYBALL WINS AT COPPIN STATE

 Dover, DE --- The Delaware State volleyball team won for the fourth time in fifth matches with a 3-0 victory over Coppin State in Baltimore, MD Saturday evening. The scores were 30-18, 30-22 and 30-21. Delaware State improved to 5-17 overall and 2-2 in the MEAC, while Coppin State fell to 1-17 and 0-5. Cassandra Joyner (so. Claymont, DE) led the Hornets with 11 kills, while Ayana Dyette (sr. Deigo Martin, Trinidad) had 10 kills and nine digs. Sarah Wheatcroft (fr. Oro Station, Ontario) continued her strong play of late, recording nine kills, a game-high 22 assists and seven digs. Delaware State had a .302 hitting percentage (50 kills/15 errors/116 attacks), compared to .090 for Coppin State (28/20/89). Indira Laurencin led Coppin State with 12 kills. The Hornets return to action on Thursday (Oct. 18) at Howard.
