Dover, DE --- Howard scored the game's only goal in the 18th minute in a win over Delaware State in a United Soccer Conference match in Washington, DC on Friday. The Bison won for the first time this season (1-10; 1-1 USC), while the Hornets fell to 2-8-1 and 0-2. Howard's Stephanie McLean fired a shot past Delaware State goal keeper Casey Murphy off a feed by Natalie Williston at 17:32 for the only score of the match. Bison goal keeper Jessamyn Perkins was credited with the shutout, although she did not record any saves. Murphy had four saves for the Hornets. Delaware State returns to action on Wednesday (Oct. 17) at home against Wilmington (Del.). The homecoming match begins at 7:00 p.m.
