Dover, Del. (Oct. 30, 2014) – Stony Brook posted a .481 hitting percentage in a 3-0 win over Delaware State in Memorial Hall this evening.

The scores were 25-19, 25-18 and 25-11.

The Seawolves (14-11) recorded 45 kills and just eight errors on 77 attacks. Cydney Bowman led SBU with 14 kills on 21 attempts (.619), while teammate Shelby Tietjen recorded 10 winners on 15 tries (.600).

Delaware State (1-21) had 27 kills and 12 errors on 62 attempts for a .242 hitting percentage, its second-best in a match this season.

Jasmine Jackson (jr.) led the Hornets with 10 kills on 21 attacks (.333), while Jae Jackson (so.) had seven kills on 12 attempts (.583).

DSU recorded 23 digs in the contest. Jasmine Jackson and Ayanna Lee (fr.) led the team with seven each. Lee also had a career-high three services aces to lead the Hornets.

Stony Brook had 19 digs in the match. Laura Hathaway had a team-high five for the Seawolves.

Stony Brook won the battle of blocks 14-6. Stephanie McFadden led all players with six blocks for the Seawolves.

Delaware State is back in action on Friday at Coppin State. The MEAC contest begins at 7 p.m. in Baltimore, Md.

The Hornets will play their final home match of the season on Nov. 14 against Hampton (6 p.m.).
