Braunskill joined the Delaware State University staff as Assistant Men’s Track and Field Coach in August 2013. He is a retired decorated U.S. Army Officer and holds a MBA in Human Resources from Webster University. He also is a 1991 graduate of NC State University.
While competing for the N.C. State track and field team, he was a 13-time NCAA All-American, as well as Atlantic Coast Conference Champion and ACC Most Valubale Perfomer in the 60-meter, 100-meter and 200-meter dashes; and the 4x100-meter relay.
After graduating Kevin went on to compete for 16 years on the professional circuit, sponsored by the US Army, Home Depot and Nike. He is a former medalist at world elite events such as World Championships, World Cup, Pan American Games, World University Games, and World Junior Championships.
Braunskill brought vast experience and knowledge to Delaware State. He credits his coaching philosophy to the three coaches he has had while competing: Curtis Frye, Trevor Graham and John Smith. The coaches mentioned are without a doubt the most decorated sprint coaches the United States has seen over a 20 year period.
Kevin retired from the active Army in 2013 and went on to coach at Delaware’s Caesar Rodney High School, where in his first season he helped his team become the indoor and outdoor state champions. The team highlighted by his blazing sprinters.
Braunskill is a USATF Level II certified coach with a mastery certification from USTFCCA. While in the Army, he was the World Class Athlete Program Coach, which boasted two Olympians during the London 2012 Games as well as qualifying over 20 athletes to the US Olympic Trials.
