The former DSU pitching great returns to his alma mater for his first season as pitching coach.
A four-year letterwinner with the Hornets, Elliott completed his college career as the team’s all-time leader in pitching wins and innings pitched, while ranking third in strikeouts.
In addition, he tied the school record with 10 wins in a season in 2012. He was tops in the MEAC in wins that season.
Elliott was a 2012 All-MEAC First Team selection and a second team pick in 2011.
His career totals include a 28-13 won-loss record, 243 strikeouts, 117 walks, 10 complete games, four shutouts and a 4.10 earned run average in 329 innings pitched.
Elliott helped lead DSU to a 73-35-1 overall record and a 43-5 mark in the MEAC his last two seasons, highlighted by back-to-back MEAC Northern Division titles.
He was also a MEAC Academic All-Star and College Sports Information Directors Association Academic All-America nominee.
