Demetrius Porter joined head coach Tamika Louis' staff at Delaware State in August 2012 as an assistant coach.
Porter's responsibilities include recruiting, development and improvement of guards, scouting opponents, conditioning, skill development and establishing team/elite camps and coaching clinics. Additionally, he will be the team liaison with the athletic training and strength and conditioning staffs.
"Coach Porter is one of the top player development coaches in the business, with his ability to help athletes reach and improve beyond their potential," remarked Louis. "He has experience training professional men's and women's players and was also a former professional basketball player."
Louis continued, "His west coast ties in recruiting will be key as we strive to bring in talent from across the country. Coach Porter's work ethic and infectious personality will make him a future star in the business and I am elated to have him join our staff."

While with the Bulldogs, Porter led the team to two NCAA Tournament appearances (first and second round) and the 1998 NIT Final Four.
