Coach Hannah

Hannah Loftus

Hannah Loftus became Delaware State University's head triathlon coach in August 2022.

In April 2020, DSU announced it was adding women's triathlon to its list of intercollegiate sports, becoming the first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) team and second Historically Black College and University (HBCU) team to sponsor the sport. Races are sprint distance, featuring 750-meter open water swims, 20 kilometers of draft-legal cycling, and a five-kilometer run.

The Hornets' triathlon team began competition in fall 2021. Loftus served as the assistant coach for the team during their inaugural year and eventually took over as head coach. While acting as the assistant coach, she closely shadowed the head coach to learn the ins and outs of NCAA triathlon coaching.

In addition to her existing rapport with the team, Loftus brings almost a decade of competitive triathlon racing experience to Delaware State and holds a USA Triathlon Level 1 coaching license. Her coaching core values are consistency, transparency and resiliency. Loftus is eager to share her passion for triathlon with the team and help them thrive!
