Geoff Von Dollen is entering his third year with the Delaware State University athletic department. His responsibilities include supervision of athletics facilities, events and operations, in addition to men’s and women’s tennis, baseball, equestrian, softball, sports medicine, strength and conditioning, equipment operation and ticketing.
Prior to his appointment at DSU, Von Dollen served as an athletics administrator at the University of South Florida (Tampa, Fla.).
Von Dollen served as USF’s assistant athletic director for ticket operations from October 2006 to July 2007. His duties included management of the Big East Conference school’s five million dollar ticket revenue budget, aided by a season ticket base of 15,000 for football and 2,000 for men’s basketball. Von Dollen directed ticket operations for the 2006 PapaJohns.com Bowl, which included the distribution of 10 thousand tickets within a four-week period. In addition, he helped develop and communicate marketing strategies for all of the Bulls’ ticket sales.
From May 2006 to October 2006, Von Dollen was Business Manager for University of South Florida, Sun Dome Inc. in Tampa. He was responsible for the organization’s business office and financial accounting functions.
Prior to his time at South Florida, Von Dollen was an athletics administrator at San Jose State University in San Jose, Calif. He was an associate athletic director/chief financial officer from May 2005 to September 2005. The previous two years, he was the assistant AD for business operations.
While at San Jose State, Von Dollen crafted and managed a 12 million dollar annual budget for the Division I-A school. He developed the budget and assisted in the successful proposal for the 2007 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Regional in San Jose, Calf.
Von Dollen also served as a business office analyst (6/02 – 7/03) and assistant athletic ticket manager (7/01 – 6/02) at San Jose State.
He began his professional career as a marketing & promotions assistant at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. Among his credits are serving as marketing director for the 1999 NCAA Women’s Tennis Regional and 1998 Women’s Basketball Mid-East Regional.
Von Dollen earned a bachelor’s in exercise science and wellness, with a minor in business administration, from Belmont University (Nashville, Tenn.) in 2000.
