MARTIN, Tenn. - Delaware State equestrian could not overcome the University of California-Davis Aggies on Friday, as the Aggies won 14-5 in the ECAC Championship Semifinals.
Even though UC-Davis dominated in Jumping Seat 9-1, Delaware State prevented the sweep.
Olivia Brown earned a point in Flat with a score of 81.5 aboard "Ferrari." Brown lost to UC-Davis' Jessie Rechs in Fences by 0.5 points.
Lily Kosal also battled hard in Fences, falling by 1.5 points to the Aggies' Emma Jolly.
Over on the Western side, the Hornets grabbed a point in Horsemanship. With a score of 72.75,
Aniela Cortina won while aboard "Mo." Delaware State took control in Reining 3-1.
Anna Payne,
Estella Estus, and
Bailey Henderson all took a point.Â
Claire Andrews and UC-Davis' Mya Clader tied at 69.25, resulting in no point being awarded. Henderson was crowned MOP in Reining. She rode "Shiner" and earned a score of 68.25. However, UC-Davis won Western overall 5-4.
Overall, the final score was UC-Davis 14-5. For points, the tally was 1471 to 1349.8.
The Hornets finish the 2024-25 season at 3-8 (3-3 NCEA).
