FORT WORTH, Texas – Delaware State University equestrian team started the second half of their season falling to Texas Christian University, 14-5, Thursday morning.
The Hornets (1-1, 1-1 NCEA) opened the meet 4-6 after Fences and Horsemanship.
The Fences corps went 2-3 and was led by Junior Olivia Brown, who put together an 86-82 victory over Jordyn Goldstein. Maranda McCarthy snagged a 76-74 win over her opponent.
Horsemanship also went 2-3, Aniela Cortina sneaked by her opponent with a 73.5-73 win. Ashley Grasso moved past Jessica McAllister with a 75-73 victory.
Following the break, Flat put dropped 2-8 vs. TCU in Jumping Seat action.
Reining fell 3-6 in the afternoon vs. the Horned Frogs. Claire Andrews collected a score of 71, earning her a win over Jessica McAllister.
Sophomore Estelle Estus completed the day with a 70-70 tie with Shea Graham.
The Hornets continue their season as they travel to face Southern Methodist University on Jan. 26.
