DALLAS, Texas – Delaware State University equestrian team continued their Texas stint dropping to Southern Methodist University, 15-4, Friday morning.
The Hornets (1-2, 1-2 NCEA) opened the meet 3-7 after Fences and Horsemanship.
The Fences corps went 2-3 and was led by Victoria Croston, who put together an 82-74 victory over Hannah Hoch. Maranda McCarthy got the victory over Taylor Madden after posting a 75.5 score.
Horsemanship also went 1-4, Claire Andrews got the only win with a 75.5-74 score over her opponent.
Following the break, Flat put dropped 2-8 vs. SMU in Jumping Seat action.
Reining fell 2-7 in the afternoon vs. the Pony's. Anna Payne collected a score of 73 versus her opponents 66.5, earning her a victory.
Bailey Henderson completed the day with a tie of 72 against Chalcey Head.
The Hornets continue their season when they face South Dakota State University on Jan. 27.
