HORNETS REPEAT AS PGA WORKS CHAMPIONSHIP RUNNER-UP

Dover, Del. (May 10, 2023) –Delaware State has taken second place in the PGA Works Women's Golf Championship for the third year in a row. The Hornets posted a final round score of 289 today to secure second place in the three-day, 11-team tournament with a combined score of 898 (+42), one stroke ahead of third place Howard (899; +43). Texas A&M Corpus Christi repeated as champions with a total of 868 (+12).
Individually, Delaware State's Amber Pennington tied for the top third round score of 68 (-3) to finish fifth among 55 players with a three-day score of 220 (+6). Pennington was 24th after the opening round, but topped all players with a score of 148 in the last two days to finish fifth overall at 220 (+6).
DSU's Anna Ferreyra-Heit was tied for eighth in the field at  225 (+11). Claudia Hofmeister was the Hornets' next best finisher, tying for 14th at 229 (+15).
