Dover, Del. (Mar. 26, 2023) --- Delaware State collected a majority of the major ECAC Equestrian 2022-23 Dual Discipline post-season awards. The awards were announced during this week's annual conference championship tournament.
The Hornets claimed three of the four ECAC Rider-of-the-Year awards. DSU's
Olivia Brown (so.; Berlin, Md.), was selected as the Flat Rider-of-the-Year, while
Kersten Zehner (sr.; Tomahawk, Wis.) is the Horsemanship Rider-of-the-Year and Aiden Stetzer (sr.; Harrisburg, Pa.) is the Reining Rider-of-the-Year.
In addition, the Hornets earned three of the four ECAC Dual Discipline Freshman-of-the-Year awards.
Grace Mangrum (Milton, Ga.) is the top rookie on the Flat,
Claire Andrews (Bellefonte, Pa.) received the award for Horsemanship and
Estella Estus (So. Dayton, N.Y.) is the honoree for Reining.
Each of the aforementioned Delaware State award winners was also named to the ECAC All-Conference Team.
In addition, Delaware State's Justina Johnson (sr.; Rose Hill, N.C.) earned ECAC All-Conference Horsemanship Team honors. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â

ABOUT THE ECAC
The ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) is an eighty-four-year-old organization with well over 200 member schools across all three NCAA Divisions - I, II and III. The ECAC exists to enhance the experience of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics and provides great value for universities and colleges by sponsoring championships, leagues, bowl games, tournaments and other competitions throughout the Northeast. The ECAC's esports platform is growing and now totals more than sixty colleges and universities and is expanding the geographic footprint for the conference nationally. The ECAC is also sponsoring competitions and leagues involving other varsity and club sports that do not fall under the umbrella of the NCAA.
