Dover, Del. (Mar. 17, 2023) --- Delaware State improved to 2-0 in conference matches this season with an impressive 6-1 victory over Norfolk State in the MEAC Round-up this morning. The Hornets won five of six singles matches and claimed the two completed doubles contests to earn the sixth point.
Baluck Deang, Daria Julia and Samara Guillory posted straight-set singles wins to highlight the Hornets' victory. Deang won 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 5 match, while Julia was a 6-3, 6-4 winner at No. 3. In the No. 6 contest, Guillory  won the first set 6-2, and was ahead 4-2 in the second when her opponent retired.
DSU's Noelani Lui and Klaudija Lisovska were three-set winners in singles. Lui dropped the first set 6-7, but bounced back with a 6-3 win in set two, and outlasted her opponent 10-7 in the deciding third set in the No.2 contest.  Lisovska split the first two sets before also winning 10-7 in set three to claim the No. 4 singles victory.
Delaware State's Kit Yi Kay Au-Yeung and Eva Golembiovski teamed up for a 6-0 victory in the No. 2 doubles match, while Lui and Deang were 6-2 winners at No. 3 doubles.
