Full Story: Hornets place second at USBC Sectional, qualify for USBC ITC National Tournament

DAYTON, Ohio --- The Delaware State University bowling team took second place and the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Sectional in Dayton, Ohio over the weekend.
 
The USBC Sectional was decided as a result of total pinfall after 64 baker matches. Delaware State notched a total of 12,591 total pins in its second-place finish.
 
Individually, the Hornets had three top-10 finishers. Saralyne Nassberg and Kelsey Cummings finished in a tie for seventh while Sydney Reardon finished in ninth place.
 
Nassberg and Cummings both knocked down a total of 1240 pins. Nassberg eclipsed the 200-pin mark four times with her highest score coming in her first game at 244. Cummings surpassed 200 pins three times and her highest game was also her first as she tallied a 232.
 
Reardon tallied 1235 total pins with her best performance coming in game four where she rolled a 236.
 
Cierra Brown brought home a top-25 finish herself as she placed 21st overall. Brown tallied a total pinfall of 1182, bowling personal best of 254 in game five.
 
Delaware State will now prepare for the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships (ITC) National Tournament in Addison, Illinois. The tournament is set to take place in mid-April.
