Dover, Del. (Feb. 20, 2022) – Olivia Wolk was three-for-four with a home run, double and four RBI to lead Hartford to a 12-1 softball victory over Delaware State in a Sunday matinee at the Hornets' softball field.
The Hawks completed a three-game sweep of the Hornets, who were played their first series of the season.
The game was called after Delaware State batted in the bottom of the fifth inning due to the seven-run rule.
Wolk doubled in a run in the top of the second inning to give Hartford a 2-0 lead, and smacked a three- run homer in the fifth to stretch the Hawks' lead to 11-1.
Delaware State scored its lone run in the bottom of the fifth.
Yanique Spencer reached base on a Hartford error and pinch runner Dallas Ramirez-Speicher scored on a two-out triple by Sandrea Hord to cut Hawks' lead to 7-1.
Hord and left fielder Felicity Munoz had two hits each to account for the Hornets' in the game.
Hartford pitcher Juliana Kocenski tossed a complete game, allowing four hits and the one unearned run, while striking out three without allowing a walk.
Delaware State starter Mayanah McIntosh was tagged with then loss.
