BROWN, ANDREWS HONORED BY ECAC; HORNETS REMAIN 10TH IN NCEA POLL

Dover, Del. (Nov. 22, 2022)--- Delaware State's Olivia Brown and Claire Andrews have been honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for their performances last weekend. Brown was selected as the Dual Discipline Fences Rider of the Week after posting a 4-0 record in the Hornets' Jumping Seat competition against Georgia and Lynchburg.  In the Georgia match, she assisted in the victory with an 85-84 win on a re-ride horse. On Saturday in Fences against Lynchburg, she won 93-90, a career high score which also earned her the MOP honors. 
Andrews earned ECAC Horsemanship Rider of the Week honors after winning by six points vs. Georgia (76-70), earning MOP honors for the performance.

Also, despite a victory over (then) No. 4 Georgia, Delaware State remains at No. 10 in the latest National Collegiate Equestrian Association weekly rankings, the final poll of the fall 2022 season. The Hornets were also 10th in the Nov. 15 rankings. Georgia fell from fourth to seventh in the latest poll.

SMU is No. 1 again this week, followed by TCU, Auburn, Texas A&M and South Carolina to make up the top five.
