MILLSBORO, Del. --- The Delaware State women's bowling team finished in a tie for second place in the first round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament over the weekend.

Delaware State posted a 6-2 record for the weekend joining University of Maryland Eastern Shore in the standings both of whom only finished behind North Carolina A&T.

The Hornets won three matches in a row before falling to North Carolina A&T and then went on to win another three in a row before falling to Morgan State University. Delaware State outscored its opponents 8,758 – 7,155 in eight baker matches. The Hornets total pinfall of 8,758 was the highest of all teams who competed.
