Dover, Del. (Oct. 9, 2022) --- The Delaware State bowling team was a perfect 5-0 on the opening day of the Bud Whitman Memorial at Bowlerama in New Castle on Saturday.
The Hornets were winners in each of five traditional games to stand in a tie for first place entering Sunday's final day.
Team standings are determined only by matchplay record this tournament, not by total pinfall.
Individually, the Hornets were led by sophomore
Kelsey Cummings (1023 total pinfall), who finished second, while sophomore
Sydney Reardon (990) in in fourth place.
Grad student
Sydney Urben is seventh with a 969 total pinfall, while junior
Saralyne Nassberg is in 11
th place at 945.
The tournament continues on Sunday (Oct. 9)n at 8:35 a.m. with four 5-game baker matches, followed by a best-of-7 position round match.
