DEPTFORD, N.J. --- The Delaware State University women's bowling team competed in the Northeast Classic hosted by Long Island University and Sacred Heart University in Deptford, New Jersey over the weekend.

Freshman
Sydney Reardon led the Hornets with a ninth-place finish out of a field of 135 bowlers. Reardon tallied 1,110 pins for an average of 222.00 on the weekend. Her best overall performance came in game three when she threw a 266. Reardon's finish was the second-highest individual performance out of teams representing the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). Alejandra Amezcua of University of Maryland Eastern Shore finished fifth overall.

Emily Breidegam and
Alyssa Breidegam tallied top-50 finishes for Delaware State coming in 43rd and 44th respectively. Emily knocked down 1,003 pins averaging 200.60 on the weekend while Alyssa tallied 1,001 pins for a 200.20 average.

Saralyne Nassberg finished with a final score of 796 (199.00) average and
Kelsey Cummings recorded a 570 over the weekend for an average of 190.00.

The Hornets finished 10th overall out of an 18-team tournament with a 7-6 record for the weekend. As a team, Delaware State knocked down 13,581 total pins averaging 202.7 per game.

The Hornets will be back in action February 11-13 when they compete in the James Brown Invitational hosted by Morgan State University.
