Dover, Del. (Apr. 8, 2021) --- The Delaware State bowling team is still alive in the 2021 NCAA Championship Tournament after splitting two matches at AMF Pro Bowl Lanes in North Kansas City, Mo., on Wednesday.
The Hornets, seeded 11
th in the Region 3 bracket, dropped their opening match to No. 6 Arkansas State 2-0 before staying alive in the double-elimination tournament with a 2-0 win Prairie View in their second contest. Â

In the Arkansas State match, Delaware State was outscored 1049-to-845 in the traditional game 937-894.
Emily Garl (so.) was high scorer for the Hornets in the contest with a total pinfall of 188.
The Red Wolves also defeated the Hornets 991-911 in the Baker total pinfall contest to claim the match win.
Delaware State rebounded in the Prairie View contest, defeating the Panthers 932-to-832 in the traditional game.
Freshmen Saralynne Nassberg and
Alyssa Breidegam led the way for DSU. Nassberg was tops on the Hornets with a total pinfall of 226, while Breidegam, the 2020-21 MEAC Rookie-of-the-Year, posted a score of 202.
DSU completed the sweep of Prairie View with an 892-855 victory in the Baker total pinfall contest.
The victory sets up another showdown with a familiar foe for the Hornets. Delaware State will face Region 3 No. 1 seed and MEAC champion North Carolina A&T in an elimination match on Thursday.
The Aggies are ranked fourth in the latest National Tenpin Coaches Association poll of Top 25 teams, while the Hornets are ranked 12
