DSU EQUESTRIAN FALLS SHORT TO MUSTANGS

Felton, Del. (Oct. 2, 2021) --- The Delaware State equestrian team put up a tough fight but came up short to SMU at the Dovington Training Center today.
The Hornets were 4-3 winners in the Western competition, but the Mustangs held a 5-3 advantage in the Jumping Seat rides to clinch the victory.
Amber Van Segbrook led Delaware State to a 3-1 victory in Reining, earning Most Outstanding Performer honors with a score of 76.5 aboard "Wally."
Abbey Craver (75.5) and Grace Wilson (73.5) also collected Reining points for the Hornets.
Aniela Cortina was DSU's lone winner in Horsemanship with a score of 74.5.
The highlight for Delaware State in the Jumping Seat competition was Victoria Croston's third Most Outstanding Performer award this season.
Croston was tops in the field with a season-best score of 89.0 aboard "Denail" on the Flat.
Gabrielle Fournier (85.0) and Jordan Wicklund (81.0) were winners for the Hornets in Fences.
