MARTIN, Tenn. - In their second road trip of the season and their last show of the fall season, the Delaware State University equestrian team suffered a difficult weekend as they fell to No. 3 Georgia and host Tennessee-Martin.

In the first meet of the weekend, the Hornets matched-up against nationally ranked UGA, 19-1.

Freshman Kali Voshell (Felton, Del.) scored the lone point for Del State in her matchup against Jackie Hoyt in the Reining event.  Voshell recorded a score of 70.5 to Hoyt's 62.5 on horse Spud.

Junior Breann Huyett (Narvon, Pa.) nearly defeated Kelly Treusdell in Reining, but lost, 72.5-73.5, to the eventual MVP on horse Oakley.

DSU lost by a point total of 1509.5 to 1328.5 to the Bulldogs.

The Hornets fared somewhat better against the Skyhawks, but still struggled en route to a 17-3 loss.

Voshell finished the day 2-for-2 as she also won her Reining event against UTM.  She outscored Carly Lamb, 72-0, on Lover.  Huyett also won her point in Reining as she scored a 73 over Candice Fulcher's 70 on horse Tivvy.

Sophomore Erin Engard (Shamong, N.J.) was the sole other DSU rider who won her event.  She scored a 74 over Katie Miranda's 55 in Equitation over Fences.

Overall, the Hornets lost by a point total of 1416 to 1366 to UTM.

Del State has concluded the fall schedule and will open their spring schedule on January 28 at the Gambler's Choice Equestrian Center as they host Sacred Heart.
