Dover, Del. (Mar. 20, 2010) --- Delaware State managed just one run and 11 hits in losses to St. Francis and Binghamton at the Demarini Capital Classic at the DSU Softball Complex today.
The Hornets were shutout 3-0 by Francis before dropping a 2-1 decision to Binghamton.
In the loss to St. Francis, Carmen Gurrola scattered six hits to the Hornets, including two to Casey Beighly.
The game was scoreless until the Red Flash scored three runs in the sixth.
In the Binghamton contest, Delaware State snapped a 12-inning scoreless streak when Andrea Waters singled in Jordan Reid to tie the score at 1-1 in the last of the sixth.
The Bearcats responded with the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh.
Kristen Emerling allowed five hits in the complete game win for Binghamton.
Delaware State will play two games in the Demarini Capital Classic on Sunday.
