Dover (Oct. 12, 2009) --- The Delaware State equestrian team swept the four Most Valuable Performer awards during an exhibition with the University Delaware at the Gambler's Choice Equestrian Center on Sunday.
DSU's Caroline Foltz, aboard "Sunshine," was MVP of the English Equitation over Fences, leading all riders with a score of 88. Kayleigh Karnbach, Kamerra Brown, Kayla Blair and Frayser Tuttle also rode to wins in Fences.
Brown was also MVP of the English Flat competition with a strong ride on "Leo." Delaware State's Ashley Butler had the top score in the Flat (87), while Tuttle and Foltz also earned points for the Hornets.
In the Western Horsemanship competition, DSU's Brittni Collins ("Justin") was honored after riding to victory with a score of 75.5. The Hornets also received winning rides from Morgan Scuse, MacKenzie Trueba and Shelby Bonneville in Horsemanship.
The Western Reining MVP went to Delaware State's Breann Huyett, who guided "Emma" to a score of 69.5. Scuse and Alicia Maynard also collected points in Reining for DSU.
The DSU equestrian team returns to action on November 8 against nationally-ranked Auburn at Gambler's Choice.
