Dovington Training Center

Dovington Training Center is home to Delaware State University's equestrian team. The team practices and hosts their home competitions at Dovington.

Delaware State equestrian competes in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA), specifically in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).

Driving from the main DSU campus to Dovington Training Center is about 30 minutes (pending stoplights).

To get to Dovington Training Center from the main campus:

  • Head south on U.S. 13. You will drive approximately 10 miles on U.S. 13 from Dover and take a slight right onto Peach Basket Road
  • Follow Peach Basket Road for approximately two miles. Then, take a right on Burnite Mill Road
  • Take Burnite Mill Road for approximately three miles, and turn left onto Black Swamp Road
  • Drive approximately 1.5 miles and look for Dovington Training Center on your right
  • Continue to the third driveway, marked "Delaware State University Equestrian"
  • The facility is down the driveway, and DSU Equestrian is located past the rings and turnout paddocks in Barn 9. This will be the first barn on your right. Parking is available on the side of the barn.

To get to Dovington Training Center from U.S. 13 (DuPont Highway)/Harrington:

  • Head north on U.S. 13. You will drive approximately three miles on U.S. 13 from Harrington and take a left onto Hopkins Cemetery Road
  • In approximately 3.5 miles, you will make another left onto Hills Market Road
  • Three quarters of a mile down Hills Market Road, take a right onto Black Swamp Road. Dovington Training Center will be less than half a mile down on your left
  • Take the first driveway, marked "Delaware State University Equestrian"
  • The facility is down the driveway, and DSU Equestrian is located past the rings and turnout paddocks in Barn 9. This will be the first barn on your right. Parking is available on the side of the barn.
